Full or Part-time hours available from 1st March – mid November, salary in line with minimum wage requirements.
Ford Park Cemetery is a Charitable Trust, independent of the City Council, a large green peaceful space in the heart of the city. Maintenance of the grounds is challenging (especially during the summer growing season!) but a rewarding task - we try to strike a balance between encouraging wildlife, allowing wild flowers to bloom and keeping the grounds in a tidy state for visitors.
As a groundsperson you will help with maintenance of the graves and general upkeep of the cemetery grounds. This will include strimming, removal of small trees, shrubs, ivy and brambles, weeding, waste removal and maintenance of monuments. If you have any special skills in this area this would be especially welcome.
If you are self-motivated, enjoy working in the open air, are comfortable working alone, and take pride in a job well done, this could be for you.
