Ford Park Cemetery Trust has forged partnership links with the wider Plymouth community.

We have a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding with Plymouth City Council and are hosting more joint events with the city museum and records office.

Schools, businesses, funeral directors and local residents have supported our work – whether it is advice on how we can improve our services, grants and donations or using our services like maintenance contracts which are an important source of income for the Trust.

In some instances we have had individual companies from outside the city who have supported us, for example a firm called Ferno UK Limited, based in Cleckheaton, manufactures stretchers used to rescue casualties all over the world. When we told them the inventor of the stretcher, John Neil Robertson, was buried at Ford Park and his grave was in a sorry state the company generously paid for restoration work.

Without a doubt the support of local media has also been a tremendous help – particularly the Plymouth Evening Herald, BBC Radio Devon and Plymouth Sound radio.

Everyone who comes along to our events and donates money, everyone who gives us their time as volunteers and everyone who has given us practical and financial support are contributing to a very special enterprise to benefit the local community and the city was a whole.
