Our Rejuven8 appeal marks a new chapter for Ford Park Cemetery in Plymouth.

Latest Appeal News:

We’ve done it! Life will be breathed into Ford Park Cemetery as a cherished community resource thanks to the amazing support and generosity of individuals and the business community.
Our Rejuven8 appeal was launched six months ago with the daunting challenge of raising from the city £60,000 to secure the Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £463,000. This grant and your fundraising achievement will enable the Grade II Listed Gothic Revival Chapel to be restored as a beautiful venue for funeral services and community events and creation of a heritage centre in the other chapel.
Work will begin early next year on this major regeneration project.
Chairman Dr Henry Will said: “The astonishing response to the Rejuven8 appeal reflects how dear the city holds this special place. The legacy of great generosity will benefit the city for many more years to come. There was a truly amazing flurry of donations in the fortnight running up to our end of September deadline. Some £7,000 over the amount needed to restore the chapel so we will use this surplus as a springboard for our next project, a memorial in the restored chapel to every civilian killed in the Second World War.
“Our volunteers, staff, supporters and partners in the city worked hard to achieve the funding to secure this Heritage Lottery grant. We couldn’t have achieved this in the very tight timescales though without the campaign coverage in the Plymouth Herald.”

Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Linda Gilroy MP

"The work of the Trust has been of incalculable value to Plymouth.  It has harnessed the voluntary work of many Plymouth people and now this is an opportunity for others in the community to show their appreciation of all that has been achieved by them since 2000, by helping them to raise the target figure of £60,000 in order for the Trust to access Heritage Lottery Funding to match it with £8 for every £1 raised."

President of Devon Family History Society Dr Todd Gray

“The importance of cemeteries as historic designed spaces is often overlooked.  Ford Park cemetery is typical of the gems which can be taken for granted and not be properly appreciated as living open spaces.  It has made a tremendous contribution to the city of Plymouth and with proper care will continue to appeal to future generations.”
