Sharing Plymouth Blitz memories Ford Park Cemetery Trust is leading an oral history project to mark the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War on 3 September 2009. Vital to the success of this project are the contributions of interviews by local people willing to share their memories as children and young adults of the Blitz on Plymouth and the aftermath. It is hoped that the recording and filming of interviews capturing these experiences can start in September 2008, subject to funding being confirmed. Most of the interviews will be carried out by local sixth form pupils, with adult supervision. This project has the support of Plymouth City Museum and the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office. It is hoped that those who take part will not only share their memories with us but also any documents or photographs which will help bring those memories to life. The greater the number willing to take part in this project the more complete the record will be to hand down to future generations of the courage and endurance of the people of Plymouth. If you would like to share your memories and stories for this oral history project please contact us.
